First Trade

Well, apparently Travis and I just couldn't wait until the playoffs ended and the trading season officially opened- we had to go ahead and get our first deal done.
Springfield sends Tom Gordon, Kenny Lofton and a fifth round pick to HAR for Russ Ortiz, Gil Meche and 50 K.

I've been there.
(Preview)
The Astros snatching defeat from the jaws of victory last night was eerily similar to Ft. Worth against Grand Prarie in the late 80's, early 90's ARBA League Championship Series. In one case Dave Winfield hit a game winning home run needing a 1 to hit the hr. And Keith rolled that 20 sided d...

Rule Proposal 1, No Drafting of High Schoolers
(Preview)
Not to be mean or cause an uproar, but this has to be the worst rule proposal I have ever seen. Because some of us follow hs and foreign players we shouldn't be penalized. How about this, I am sure some people don't follow A ball so why don't we limit the draft to just AA players. From som...

With the tune-up of the regular season over, Santa Fe went all medeivel on Camden for a 4-game sweep. I don't have the stats with me, but SFE scored something like 40 runs in the series, capping it off with a 6-0 win in Game 4 behind a Zach Greinke shutout.

Censorship
(Preview)
This morning I deleted a couple of political posts.
While I certainly love the first amendment and everyone's right to freedom of speech and vigorous debate, this board is not the place for it, and I intend to delete any political or mean-spirited posts or other things that just do not belong.
