Houston is looking for a full-time 3b. Assets available to acquire the 3b are Olemdo Saenz (awesome vs LH), Craig Counsell (ss) and #1 pick (7th overall) and many mid-late round picks. Of course quality of player determines combination of assets. Houston assumes it will have Gordon playing 3b in 2008, so this year can be a fill in, or a player that also plays another position.
Why the heck are you shopping for another 3B when you already have me? I can totally handle 3B every day! You had better be planning to write my name in the lineup everyday for one of the many positions that I can play. I agreed to the trade from Nike with certain expectations, man. This is about the R-E-S-P-E-C-T that I have earned as a multi-talented veteran. An unhappy Damian Jackson could destroy your entire team...so don't mess with the bull, you'll get the horns!
Yes I can play you at 3b, then I'm looking for another outfielder. So either way I'm looking for another player. If you are going to "destroy" my team it will probably be with your pathetic offensive performance. No offense intended; pun is intended.
Dear Olmedo,
If you had accumulated another 300-400 plate appearances then you would be the 3b in spite of your stone-like hands. You would benefit another team in play-off contention more than Houston by being a platoon dh or 1b where your stone-like hands do less damage.
The input from you guys is much appreciated and I'm sure a gm job is awaiting each of you when your playing days are over.
p.s.
If Saenz ends up staying with the Texans, and ends up crushing an opponent's lh pitching in a series, I don't want to hear no bellyaching from anybody. You all have your chance to acquire this fine specimen of lh crushing rh hitter.
Man, I get CLCS MVP and no respect in negotiations for another long term contract from that ingrate skinflint of an owner in Buda. It's bad enough he moved me to 3b, now he's balking at paying me a paltry $900K for all the bombs and obp I deliver.
