Game 1: Salem blasts 5 home runs, scoring twice in the 1st, 3 in the 3rd, and 6 in the 5th and tacking on 3 more later. SSS 14, WOO 1
Game 2: Imanaga, Phillips and Weaver hold SSS to only 2 hits, but Cease only gives up 1 hit over 8, striking out 12. Fortunately for Salem, one of their hits is a 8th inning Tyrone Taylor HR. SSS 1, WOO 0
Game 3: The Horsemen bats wake up, knocking Valdez around for 6 runs over the 1st two innings. The Sharks managed to level it, scoring twice in each of the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings, but Tyler Rogers walks the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th before giving up a 2-run single to Ozuna. WOO 8, SSS 6
Game 4: The Sharks jump out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to Marte and Naylor solo shots, and tack on 3 more in the 4th. That proves to be enough as Lopez and Akin combine to hold the WOO lineup to 6 base runners. SSS 5, WOO 0
Game 5: Crazy good pitching, as Lugo and a string of relievers hold WOO to 6 hits and 1 walk over 12 innings, all while Crochet and company hold SSS to 4 hits and no walks, with 19 strikeouts. The deciding blow turns out to be a Parades triple that drives in Yandy Diaz. WOO 1, SSS 0
Game 6: Salem jumps out to the early lead, scoring 5 in the 1st, with most of the damage coming from a Santander grand slam. Another 2-run shot from Santander and a Riley solo shot make it 8-0 after 4, which proves to be plenty for Cease, as he allows only 4 hits and a walk over 8, striking out 11. SSS 8, WOO 2.
The series was in many ways an anomaly, particularly as the Salem pitching staff managed to hold the WOO lineup to a grand total of zero home runs. Yep, Judge, Ozuna, Raleigh... nothing.
Despite the small sample size weirdness, Josh had a great team with a scary lineup that put together an otherwise great season. I'm guessing the Judge/Raleigh combo might hit a few home runs next year.
