The Austin Greyhounds took a brief break from celebrating their championship to address the gaping void at shortstop, where they expected to be set for the next decade or so. Alas, it was not to be. Today's move is merely a stopgap but at least the void isn't quite so gaping. Anyway, Austin is happy to welcome Edmundo Sosa from Redwood in exchange for pitchers Randy Vasquez and Connor Phillips. We could still use more help for SS, CF and SP.
Redwood confirms. They bid adieu to Sosa, who has been a reliable lefty-mashing utility infielder the past several seasons, but is not in the club's rebuild plan.
