Just looking at the timeline for off-season activities.
With the way this league is run, the offseason actually happens very quickly, C draft one day, FA draft one day, then the IOD draft....and a waiver draft.
Why is there such a long delay between the end of the FA draft (March 9) and the IOD draft (March 25) ?
This league doesn't start playing games until the last week of April, whereas all three of my other leagues I participate in, games commence right around the start of the regular MLB season.
I dunno was just curious if there was a way to speed up / condense our off-season, but, perhaps the machinations behind the scenes (player transactions, setting up strat-draft), take longer than I estimate they do.
Just some curious thoughts from north of the border on a cool drizzly rainy spring day here. On days like this I wish it was snowing!
Yep, you guessed it right. It's basically some time to allow a little more sanity into the behind-the-scenes work of setting up the draft website and give everyone a bit more time to do research on minor leaguers.
