East Greenwich has a number of starting pitching options that don't really do anything for us this year, but are all young enough to have a decent shot at future value. The options include:
Jose Suarez: just turned 26, some success before 2023, but injured last year - unlimited starts (of pure ugliness). Probably should have cut him given the number of guys I have like him.
Michael Grove (the Dodger, not me): 26 y.o. Cromulent vs RH, not so much vs LH. Unlimited starts
Quinn Priester: 23 y.o. May very well have a slot in the Pirates rotation in 2024. Unlimited starts this year.
Drey Jameson: 26 y.o. Not actually awful, but only 45 scaled IP and not unlimited. TJ surgery means that you can put him on an E next year.
Gavin Stone: 25 y.o. I have the most faith in him going forward, but he was crappy in his major league innings in 2023, so also unlimited.
Suarez, Grove, or Jameson would be the cheapest, Priester less so, and Stone is still a serious prospect on some lists, so he's the least likely to move.
I'm looking for present utility relief innings or someone that can offer some at-bats on the left side of the infield. if I could get a decent 1B or 2B option, I could move Michael Massey along with a pitcher (and let Julien take the bulk of the at-bats at the other position)
