I'm sure that all of you have been anxiously awaiting the inevitable post-auction post from Deadwood, so I'd better get that done now. Well, the Desperados managed to add the 5th and 7th players on yesterday's FA list. After that, they bid on a bunch of players and ended up with exactly none of them. Even better, many of their targets ended up with division rival Brooklyn, further extending the relative gap to a chasm. So yeah, that wasn't ideal and indeed, it escalated quickly. However, I still feel obligated to try without going all out. Santana is a better fit for the veteran part-time 1B role than the recently jettisoned Votto and Davis is more of a minimum salary hedge than a solution, so our needs remain pretty much the same. In case you've forgotten...
3B help, particularly vs. RHP,
Bats vs. LHP, particularly one who can play the OF, but others are welcome. Not completely sucking vs. RHP is a nice bonus.
That's all that I'm still trying to address through trade at this point, although there are certainly other opportunities for improvement. There's a pending trade offer that would help, but I might as well check what else is out there.
Trade bait includes the cash I didn't spend, RH Reliever Ryan Thompson (pretty solid and with a 2 Closer rating), and perhaps some other guys depending on what's being offered. Let's talk!
