Anyway, Deadwood continued their quest to get older and make the season more interesting, even though they're unlikely to win the division or make a deep playoff run. Today's deal does increase their odds a bit as they added Joc Pederson's lefty bat in exchange for JJ Bleday and $40K in gold nuggets. Bleday may come back to haunt me now that he's escaped Miami's infamously poor development program, but I just couldn't resist rolling the dice with Joc. I mean, that's just a perfect name for Deadwood.
