After 12 seasons in Shiner, it's time for a change. We've had a very successful run with 9 playoff appearances and 2 championships. However, the last 2 seasons ended prematurely with losses in the division series to our longtime rivals in Harmony Grove. I also think it's time for ARBA to once again have a team where the league started oh so many years ago. Therefore, Shiner is loading up the trucks for a 90-mile move north to Austin, Texas! We're keeping the Greyhounds mascot because those dogs are awesome. Thanks for the memories, Shiner. Hopefully the Austin Greyhounds will make some great ones of their own, although probably not in 2023.
Along those lines, the Greyhounds still have many veteran players available. I love Jose Ramirez too much, despite his failure to hit in the CLCS. However, everyone older than him should go!
Pitchers: Adam Wainwright, Collin McHugh, Marco Gonzales, Kenta Maeda (uncarded), Blake Treinen (uncarded)
I'm mostly interested in adding young talent anywhere but SS and 3B, but will also consider picks, cash and maybe prospects. The glut at SS may make Bichette expendable, but I would only trade him for a comparable talent at a more convenient position. Sorry, Phillip!
Ha! It's been almost 5 years since I interviewed there for a job that I fortunately didn't get. Before that it had been about 10 years and it's safe to say that I've spent very little time in Austin since graduating from UT in 1991. Fortunately, this is a fantasy baseball league, so the team can just ignore the present and play in old weird Austin!
