The Surprise GM, Reginald P. Thorsten III, apparently got very drunk celebrating that epic FLCS triumph over Santa Fe. The Springfield GM's sobriety is still unknown, but the pair met at some point in that wild night and concocted this crazy blockbuster deal. So here it is.
Springfield sends Willy Adames, Pablo Lopez, Jon DuPlantier, Logan Allen, and $200K to Surprise for Justin Turner, James McCann, Freddy Galvis, Maurice Hampton and Tucapita Marcano.
Whew! That's a lot to process.
Huge thanks to Turner for 4 great seasons with Surprise. Smaller thanks to McCann and Galvis for this season. Hopefully this won't distract them from the upcoming World Series. Best of luck to all in Springfield!
Welcome to Surprise for yet another young shortstop and the trio of young pitchers.
Believe it or not, Surprise still has some interesting stuff to trade. At this point, I would be most interested in young OF, C, and 3B. I really can't take any more MIF now!
BTW, at one point during the negotiations, Eric put the cash on the wrong side of the trade proposal, and I didn't even notice, which should answer all those questions about sobriety....
