Believe it or not, we only have a little over 2 weeks left before the 1st trading period comes to an end. After adding Cruz, the 2017 Zombie lineup looks pretty scary. However, the pitching isn't quite up to our recent lofty standards.
Here's what we have available at this point:
1) Rougned Odor - In his age 22 season, the feisty 2B hit 33 homers and Jose Bautista's face. What will he hit next?
2) Randal Grichuk - The young (turned 25 in August) and powerful OF got off to a slow start, but produced down the stretch to end up with 24 HR in 478 PA.
3) Hector Rondon - Hard-throwing part-time closer for the Cubs with a very affordable B2 salary for 2017
4) Liam Hendricks - Solid RH reliever with 3.76 ERA and 71 AIP. Another B2 contract.
5) Mediocre (to bad) bench bats - Phil Gosselin, AJ Ellis, Brett Wallace, Juan Uribe
6) Prospects who I don't love that much anymore: Raul Alcantara (Oak-RHP), Malquin Canelo (Phi-SS), Marten Gasparini (KC-SS), Ricardo Pinto (Phi-RHP), Lewis Thorpe (Min-LHP), Forrest Wall (Col-2B), Nolan Watson (KC-RHP)
7) Maybe draft picks
Although they do need to build a bench at some point, SUR is mostly seeking pitchers. They need at least one starter to replace Duffy and are lacking in shutdown relievers other than Miller Cash would also be very welcome.
