It was with a sad heart that I read the announcement that Gary was leaving the league. Gary was the last founding father from the organizational meetings to the original 1982 season I joined the league in the middle of that 1982 season but was not around for the beginning. He did leave the league for several years, so there is precedence for his possible return at some point and time. He will be missed. Thank you for your many years of support.
Couldn't agree more with Ken - Gary has been a great member of ARBA for longer than anyone and I'm extremely sad to lose him as an owner. Hopefully he will get the itch and decide to return.
Now that I'm finally on the message board again, I also need to join in on this. Gary was an important part of the league for decades and will definitely be missed, but hopefully he'll return again someday.
Ken, you're the only one left from the early days before I joined in 1988 and brought in Tom the next year! Warren also started around then, I can't remember exactly when. Perhaps he will remind us...
I came in 1985 via Don Edwards and took over the Winchester Rifles. Gary was an ex-commissioner who was an integral part of keeping the league going as we switched from face-to-face to PBM. I miss the old days of Saturday meetings at Austin Public libraries and the IOD with everyone in one room.
