YOC Tomlinson is tragically trapped under something heavy, so I'm handling this friendly reminder, among other things...
By this Sunday, all ARBA rosters need to meet the following criteria:
No more than 60 total players, including minors
No more than 35 "carded" players who had 25+ IP or 50+ PA in the 2015 MLB season
No more than 30 "carded" players who had >30 IP or >100 PA in the 2015 MLB season
Elaborating somewhat on the roster rules above, teams with more than 30 "carded" players will need to designate (in their default CM) which of their minors-eligible players will be placed in the minors for Series 1-10, then activated for Series 11-12. Note that the active roster for opening day will also hold for the playoffs. Also note that teams are not required to carry a minimum number of carded players, although of course they will suffer draconian fines if they don't have enough to cover PA, GS, and IP without overusage. Teams are also not required to carry a full roster of 60 players.
It looks like there are at least a dozen teams that currently don't meet those criteria. Let me know if you have any questions about roster rules, or whatever.
Teams are required to follow these roster rules through the waiver draft and any trades made before 2016 rosters are finalized on 3/21.
Given that Tom's rescue is a very low priority for Houston-area firefighters, please send any roster cuts to both of us.
You can also look forward to receiving your account information for StratDraft soon so you'll have a chance to look around before the waiver draft actually starts. YOC did allegedly set this up with all the current "waiver availables" before the "accident", but I can't confirm that quite yet, so stay tuned. Unowned minor leaguers will also be available and all waiver picks will cost the minimum $40K each.
Okay, that's all for now. Would it be wrong to sneak in another plug for Carter Capps? Yeah, probably so.
