In their third trade in the three days since trading opened, Redwood sends Chris Young and Javier Baez to Goose Island (mmmmm, beer) for CJ Wilson and Nick Markakis.
In spite of the team basketball squad taking a hit by losing its center, we're hoping that Wilson and Markakis can shoot the three. Baseball-wise, Wilson balances out the rotation and Markakis moves Nelson Cruz out of right field and back to the DH spot where he belongs. Shipping off Baez will likely bite me in the ass, but, you have to give up something to get something.
Now, on to fix our gaping holes at shortstop and first base/third base........
....and Baez moves directly from RED and onto the trade block for anyone who can spare a CF who can catch and hit righties! I've asked him to not unpack his bags.
