Aubrey Huff, who last played in the majors in 2012, intends to attempt a comeback this winter at age 39.
Huff wasn't any good at age 34 or 35, so it's hard to imagine that he has anything to offer teams four years later. Still, there's no harm in trying, we imagine. Huff is a career .278/.342/.464 hitter with 242 homers in 6,104 at-bats. He'll be looking for a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training.
Reliable sources report that Tom "Sparky" Tomlinson is currently preparing a "Godfather"offer for the 2nd overall pick that Aaron cannot possibly refuse. He simply can't bear to risk missing out on either Kelby or Aubrey. Stay tuned for further developments...
