Shiner made another deal with Tradin' Matt of Goose Island today.  This time, they sent franchise icon Nick Markakis to join his longtime teammate Pujols and several teammates from last season who departed in an earlier trade.  Good luck and thanks for the many great memories, particularly the three consecutive World Series and one ARBA championship!  Yikes, if Yadier Molina really departs at some point, that would leave Melky Cabrera (2012) as the longest tenured Shiner player.   

Okay, so what were the details?  Hold on, I'll tell you soon.  People are so impatient these days...

Of course, we couldn't ask one player to fill Nick's shoes, so three new guys are coming over.  Will any of them actually contribute to the next good Shiner team?  Only time will tell...

Shiner trades Nick Markakis and their 5th round pick to Goose Island for Brad Miller, Yonder Alonso, and Elian Herrera.
