Oh yeah, I have that other cruelly neglected team too! Oh well, I'd better at least make a token attempt to help them out.
Shiner still pretty much as a smoking crater of doom where their IF used to be, so that's the top priority. Young players are preferred, but I'll settle for nominally warm bodies at this point. They also need help in the starting rotation. Given all their holes, I don't expect this team to contend this year, but I guess they might surprise me.
Trade bait includes: (once again, their 2015 contract demands are in parentheses)
1) David Murphy (B1, 508 APA, LF/RF) - nothing special, but still a cheap and serviceable corner OF option vs. RHP.
2) Gordon Beckham (B6, 531 APA, 2B/3B/SS) - Good 2B/3B defense, hit well vs. LHP, not so much vs. RHP, somehow only 28.
3) Curtis Granderson (B2, 719 APA, OF) - Numbers are uninspiring, but should have a decent everyday OF card, plus he's a swell guy!
4) Chris Young (B2, 403 APA, OF) - Disappointing again, but just look at the tools!
5) Jordan Schafer (B1, 264 APA, CF) - Speedy LH OF with good defense, but this team has a surplus in that area.
6) Sean Rodriguez (B1, 285 APA, 2B/1B/3B/SS/LF/RF) - Super-utility guy with some pop, particularly vs. LHP.
7) Adam Rosales (B1, 199 APA, 1B/2B/3B/SS) - Another fun utility guy who hit LHP very well.
8) Albert Pujols (B14, 765 APA, 1B/3B) - Bounced back to have a pretty good season, but would still be rather expensive coming off A contract.
9) Edwin Jackson (B2, 35 GS, UL IP) - Was terrible for the Cubs, but will get more chances. Do you feel lucky?
I'll stop there for now. Bring on the fabulous offers!
