The Zombies moved quickly to fill the giant 3B void left by Donaldson.  Surprise sends rotation stalwart Jon Niese to East Greenwich in exchange for Pablo Sandoval and $100K (to help pay a small army of personal trainers and chefs).

Thanks to Niese for his 5 mostly excellent years of service with the franchise.  I'll also offer thanks to Josh Donaldson for his 2 years of service, including an MVP-caliber season in 2014.  Although he has slumped in the playoffs, I have faith that Josh will bounce back in the World Series to earn a championship ring!
