Game 1 pitching rematch. NMO with score in the first with singles from Andrus and Harper. They would also score in the 2nd on a Davis single, Walker single, and Saunders sac fly. Already leading 2-0, NMO added another run in the 3rd on doubles from Santana and Carpenter. Boring game after this point as the pitchers took over and the game ended with a NMO 3-0 victory.
Game 5 - Hellickson vs Collmenter
A Victorino single and steal which resulted in an error putting him at 3rd got the game going. Iannetta would follow with a walk then Beltre didn't help with a line out. Hamilton would be intentionally walked to bring up double play master Butler. Collmenter had other ideas and decided to plunk him scoring a run. Nelson followed with a strike out but Lee came through in the clutch with a run scoring single. Hamilton would try to score from 2nd but was thrown out at the plate (19 roll on a 16 safe chance). HAR starts out with a 2-0 lead, which would remain until the 4th when Morales hit a solo shot. NMO would tie it at 2 in the 5th with singles from Andrus, Dirks, and Harper. In the 7th an Escobar double and Victorino single plated a runner followed by a Scott Moore error and Beltre single plating another runner. HAR added another run in the 9th on a Santiago double and Beltre single. The game would end with a 5-2 HAR victory.
Back to HAR for game 6 where NMO won both playoff series games. Stay Tuned!
Series moved back to Harmony Grove for the final two games. Alas, game 6 proved to be anti-climactic in a very competitive series. 7 walks, a hit batter, 3 stolen bases, and an error in the first two innings gave New Monmouth a quick 5-1 lead that it never looked back from. Michael Saunders had a career day going 4-4 with 3 doubles, a 3b, 2 Sb's 5 RBI and 5 runs scored to lead the way to the 15-4 series clinching victory. Congrats to travis on a good yearand on being such a good sport. WE couldn't get Netplay to work(does it ever?) so he was gracious enough to run the games while I just sat back and inputted. After arguing about who had the worst ARBA luck, when Saunders goes Babe Ruth on you, there is no doubt about the answer for this series at least..... But I am telling ya, no one can beat me historically in ARBA when it comes to bad luck. SO I move onward to the next series just wondering how will I fail in this series because after having one lucky series, I am doomed.
