Bali has recently acquired Brett Gardner. We did so obviously for future years as he was injured much of last year.
So much so, that he only acumulated 37tpa. Now this normally would make him a minor leaguer, however Brett is on a long term B4 contract. I'm wondering, since he will be paid as a major leaguer, if Bali will be able to use his 40 adjusted plate appearances? A pinch hitter with a .417obp isn't that bad.
Anyway, couldn't find anything about it in the rules, so I thought I'd ask.
Batters with less than 50 PA (and pitchers with less than 25 IP) don't get to play in ARBA, regardless of their contract situation. Gardner counts as a minor leaguer, just a more expensive one. It's the same deal with Kyle Blanks, who Bali already had, but his 6 PA weren't enough to exist in Strat anyway. My public service continues! If only someone would reward me by making an offer for Jeff Francis...
