That's right! After 18 seasons, 1730 wins, 12 playoff appearances, 3 WS, and ZERO World Championships...the Laramie Mountaineers are no more. There are plenty of theories about what has prevented Laramie from winning it all despite so many excellent chances. Indian Burial Ground curse? Bad team chemistry? The small market in Wyoming? Poor managing? Simply lousy luck at the worst time of year? Whatever the reason, it's clearly time for a change.
So in the dead of night, a fleet of trucks appeared in Laramie to steal their franchise away to Arizona. They will now be known as the Surprise Zombies! Perhaps a team trying to escape an Indian Burial Ground curse shouldn't be messing around with the undead, but old habits are hard to break. Also, our Marketing department has a great campaign planned for the Halloween season! Of course, the entire coaching staff was sacked and replaced with an impressive set of not-living legends. Manager: Casey Stengel, Pitching Coach: Cy Young, Hitting Coach: Ted Williams, 1B Coach: Eddie Collins, 3B Coach: Ty Cobb, Bullpen Coach: Hoyt Wilhelm, Bench Coach: Billy Martin.
Now we will be unstoppable!!! Yeah, right. Perhaps it will change our luck anyway. Hopefully I'll have trades to announce soon, but this will have to do for now.
