Well, apparently Travis and I just couldn't wait until the playoffs ended and the trading season officially opened- we had to go ahead and get our first deal done. Springfield sends Tom Gordon, Kenny Lofton and a fifth round pick to HAR for Russ Ortiz, Gil Meche and 50 K. If at least one of Ortiz and Meche don't get their act together and have a good season in 2006 I am going to feel very stupid. Of course, some say I should feel that way all the time. By the way- I hope you've all been to the theater to see SERENITY. Though based on the box office returns you probably haven't... __________________

Technically, this trade doesn't yet exist, as the Trading Period does not actually start until Friday Oct. 28. And I just know that everyone always waits for the official start of the Trading Period before agreeing to deals.... __________________

Technically, I acknowledged in my post that the trading season hadn't officially started yet. I'm not ignorant. I just don't mind committing insurrection against Tom.... __________________

Technically, I had previously been informed about another trade. So this isn't the "first." So there, nyahhhhhh. __________________
