BTM sends Mitch Maier (who was obtained way back in the day from arch-nemesis SFE* in a deal for Kerry Wood) off to SCH to satisfy Eric's desperate need for a left handed hitting outfielder (so he can dream about defeating arch-nemesis SFE*) for Luis Castillo to satisfy Dave's desperation for a 2b that occasionally hits righties (in order to do battle with arch-nemesis SFE*) and SCH's 8th round draft pick.
Both Eric and I blame the rest of the league for this deal happening.
*Please note that "arch-demon Tom Tomlinson" can be substituted for "arch-nemesis SFE"

Oh great, like Tomlinson's swollen ego needs any more evidence that it's really all about him. I'm sure that this blockbuster will be the key to his downfall, however.
In case you were wondering, the acquisition of Maier does not end Schaumburg's quest for OF help, but he does have a higher probability of playing for us than Castillo did. Thanks for your one year of service, Luis.
