Yeah, I'm a little late to the trade post party this year. I did finally dare to look at what has become of the mighty Surprise Zombies, and it ain't that pretty at all. Ah, that orchestra of tiny violins is so very beautiful...
On the plus side, SUR technically doesn't have any big holes, but does have room for improvement almost everywhere.
Our primary trade bait consists of a pair of Mets (listen up, Jon!) who are coming off A contracts and ready for fresh starts. Francisco "K-Rod" Rodriguez actually put up quite impressive closer numbers before that pesky incident with his girlfriend's father. As for Jason Bay, his power was strangely absent in an injury shortened season. However, that was only the 2nd time in his career that his OPS dipped below .890 and he's still 32, so he should bounce back.
Almost anyone else is also available for the right price, but those are the only 2 who I'm actively shopping at the moment. In return, I'm simply looking for good value whether that comes in the form of major leaguer, prospect, pick, and/or cash. However, I will say that a legitimate OF would be particularly welcome as that group looks rather dire all of a sudden.
I'm not expecting much from this team in 2011, but feel free to donate some better players if you just can't bear the thought of an ARBA playoffs without me. Bring on those fabulous offers!
