Justin Jackson is deeply honored to be traded to Bali in exchange for a guy who pitched in the majors for 2 years before he was born (Jamie Moyer), plus some minor draft considerations (Bal-7 and Bal-8).
Moyer is actually slightly worse than the incumbents at the back of Surprise's rotation, but in addition to whatever veteran moxie he can impact to young bucks like Randy Wolf, his value is in freeing up other pitchers for yet still more trades!
In particular, I can now afford to deal up to 2 of the following without needing starts back in return: 1) Ross Detwiler - Was, LHP, 3/6/86, 14 GS, 83 Adj. IP, 5.00 ERA, 2007 #1 pick 2) Sean Marshall - ChC, LHP, 8/30/82, 9 GS, 94 AIP, 4.32 ERA 3) Pat Misch - NYM, LHP, 8/18/81, 7 GS, 69 AIP, 4.48 ERA, reverse lefty 4) Kip Wells - Cin, RHP, 4/21/77, 7 GS, 80 AIP, 5.33 ERA, better card than you think
We're seeking players who can help this season, either in the bullpen or off the bench. In particular, the lineup vs. LHP could use another impact bat. I can include prospects, picks, cash, and other players as needed in the right deal.
