Post Info TOPIC: New Owners!
Ye Olde Commissioner

New Owners!

All -

I am very happy to announce that we have 3 new owners to the league, all of whom are experienced Strat folks.

The new folks and their teams:

Joe Hamrahi: Houston
Jeremy Byrd: Jersey Shore
Pete Grassi: Madrid

The contact information is available on the Manager page.

I would like to add special thanks to Tom S., who volunteered to surrender Houston to bring in a new owner and reduce the number of 2-team owners once we found 3 very qualified new owners.

Thanks,
-Tom

Wow! Some familiar names here.

Joe Hanrahi - Baseball Daily Digest. Check out his website at baseballdailydigest.com; he writes some interesting articles. The site also contains a player tracker area where you can create teams and add players. I have been using it for several years now. I usually create all the teams in the FL and compare them to determine which teams are going to be competitive for the season. You need to be a member, but it is free to join. Welcome aboard Joe.

Jeremy Byrd - Last year he joined another league I am a member of (Replay Money League or RML for short). Manager of the Ironpigs. Don't know him yet as I sat out the league last year. I do know he likes to trade and really likes to post to the league website.  Welcome aboard JB. This league is not near as complicated as RML, but it is more cut throat.

Pete Grassi - I can't place how I am familiar with him, but I am pretty sure I have seen his name before.  Either in another league or on a web site.  Let me know if I am mistaken Pete. Welcome aboard.

Always happy to see new guys. Especially if it means we lower the amount of two team managers in the league.

Oops. My apologies for mispelling your last name Joe.

Oops again, for misinformation about the player tracker area on Joe's website. Apparently that is no longer part of the member area. It is linked to Baseball Prospectus and is now part of a package that is not free. I was using it free just thru this last week or so and now the site has changed.  Looks like you can get a fantasy subscription that expires 11/1/2010 for about 20 dollars.

I'll echo the welcome to all (who I've started to get acquainted with in our other league) and the thanks to Tom S.  Hopefully I won't quickly regret passing up this opportunity to give up SCH, but I just couldn't bear to part with Pujols so soon.

Welcome to all new comers.  Been awhile it seems since we've had new blood in ARBA.  I am familiar with Joe's web site and have also used the player tracker for many years.  Another interesting thing Joe does and has available at his website is a list of all the varios top10 prospects lists and consolidates them into one file.  He updates it weekly and really is a one stop shop (for free) for the prospect lists.

It was hard to give up Houston, but two teams each in two leagues was a lot.  With my eldest son starting high school baseball this year, time is going to be an even more precious commodity.  Joe is a freshman at Langham Creek High School.  He plays catcher and outfield mostly.  He pitches some.  He's starting on the sophmore team, with a chance for in-season call up to JV.  He's also quarterback on football team, so you can imagine his arm is one of his calling cards.  Okay, I'm done bragging....LOL.
