I've made 9 deals with Surprise so far, but it's been almost a month since the last one. So I'm feeling a little restless. What the heck, maybe there's still something to be done before time runs out. The roster is mostly set at this point, but there's still some room for improvement here and there.
Surprise is seeking: 1) A hitter to torment LHP in a platoon role, preferably one who can play adequately in the IF 2) Another starter better than Vicente Padilla and Doug Davis 3) A backup catcher worthy of his salary 4) Perhaps a fun pinch hitter for the bench 5) Draft picks and cash are always nice
Surprise can offer: 1) Starting pitchers - Padilla and Davis 2) Relievers - Mike Wuertz and Nick Masset 3) My Less Favored Minor leaguers - Russ Detwiler, Casey Janssen, Adam Loewen, Justin Maxwell, Jermaine Mitchell, Henry Sosa, and Chorye Spoone 4) Cash and picks if needed to even things out
I'm open to other suggestions, but that's what's on the interest and expendable list right now. Let me know if you have any ideas. I should note that I'm very unlikely to dump both Padilla and Davis (who are quite cheap) without a replacement on board.
