Eric you are officially off the hot seat for telling Gary that Jimmy Rollins was not available and then trading him to Keith. I was told that Austin wasn't going to make any moves and was content with the way their team was set up. I now would like to propose a rule that Gary can no longer give Eric a hard time about Jimmy Rollins.
I didn't trade anybody you asked for. I'll give you a shot to beat any deal I am offered for the guys we talked about, but right now I plan to keep them.
I asked about Hunter the night we played the playoff games at your house....maybe it was just late in the night and you forgot? So now you can just give me a huge discount to make up for your slight.
For the record I offered to chop off my right leg, name my first four children Jeff or Thing (his choice), and a night in Dubai with my wife for Snider.
wow, didn't know i kicked a hornets nest when i posted that...
essentially every rookie/minor leaguer is available....but you have to have something i feel i need0.
Having said that I still NEED: closer / 3b / lhp relief (quality)...no fiddler crabs
But my team is pricey right now especially with some of the young guys going A or about to go A. So I'm looking for the best of both worlds....quality and cheap....hard to find.
in the case of this trade, my team is getting really expensive in a hurry....i have about a 4 year window i feel i have to compete short term....so i knew i needed to improve....defense and bullpen were 2 of my weakest areas last season....hence the trade.
Aaron I was going to ask about Kuo and the other reliever for Col...but you traded them before i had a chance to get with you. (and I don't remember that offer either...lol...I'll take Jeff, Jeff, Jeff, Jeff....kinda of a George Foreman deal)
Hey A, I don't want your right leg, not interested in what you name your first four children, but the night in Dubai doesn't sound so bad if you pay for the ticket to get me there. Snider is not untouchable for me with the right offer and maybe you have somenthing I want, but I haven't looked at your team yet. Could be this trade opened an opportunity for you. Now belly up to the bar.
Trav, maybe Jeff will trade you Hunter. I forgot you did ask about him, but that would have been after midnight and right after game 7 of the series and I probably woudn't have been in too generous a mood then. Couldn't pass up what Jeff offered as a rebuilding team. Hunter just happened to be part of that offer.
...First of all, my right leg is the more handsome of the two..and have you seen my wife. As for the ticket, it depends where you are flying from, Austin's a long ways away, the ticket from Bali being cheaper.
Really though, with Lind and Snider splitting LF/DH duties (I hope) next year in Toronto, I am interested.
You will have to make an offer though, 'cause I am not sure what you would be interested in.
Hey I didn't think Aus made the playoffs.........wait.......oh I see Aus played the games for Ely and made a trade with him. Sounds like the best of both worlds.
I find that comment quite amusing considering all the brother-in-law deals I've seen over the last 5-7 years.
Every year I look at trades and think to myself "what the hell were they thinking?" Yet I'm constantly reminded that everyone has a different value system for minors/majors/relievers/fiddler-crabs/A-salaries and such.
My dad and I seem to agree on value...our teams are heading in 2 different directions so the trade seemed reasonable. Not that I have to defend this trade b/c I'll gladly discuss trade value with anyone.
Having said that, with a little review of the archives one can see a pattern of people who trade with each other the most. Won't take long to figure out who is always getting the better end of the deals either. It's not hard to spot and can be quite amusing to review.
So watch that glass house you live in....b/c throwing rocks from the inside is just at bad as catching one from the outside.
