"The powerful Elysian Fields Trojans pitching staff gave the fans an afternoon that they'll never forget by tossing a combined perfect game! The tension started to build around the 6th inning. By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified." quote from boxscore
Okay, maybe they're not a powerful staff, but a combined perfect game? Don't think I've seen a perfect game in Strat before. Hughes started, and due to his overusage on the road he only had an average four innings per game left for the season, so he was pulled after the fourth. Enter Ryan Franklin and he goes three perfect innings before tiring. That brought on Borkowski, and I was sure the no hitter was doomed, but he goes one and third and turns it over to Troy Percival for the last two outs. I knew there was a no hitter on the line, but I didn't realize it was a perfect game until I read the game story in the boxscore.
That's three no hitters reported so far this season. Have we ever had this many in one season before?
