Needless to say he did want 3 prospects. 2 of which were first round picks in MLB and would easily be in ARBA as well if available. The other is basically considered to be the top player available in the entire draft this next season so yes he will be a #1 pick (if not THE #1 pick) in MLB and easily a #1 in ARBA too. I can forward you the email if you forgot what you typed.
All 3 of them ended up in the Ramirez trade if you need a reference.

nah...Lee's bat is good, but his D sucks bigtime. I can play Gary Sheffield as a 5 in LF. He's not as good as Lee, but he's above average and I don't have to give anything up for him.

Wait I found it. It is the one where you offered him players that haven't even completed a full year of pro ball. Then when he told you the players he was interested in all you said is that they would never be traded from your team, which was a lie in itself because you included them in the Hanley deal. You never even countered with different players or more cash all you said was that you would look elsewhere for someone with better defense. Just because you are lazy like usual and don't counteroffer don't get mad when someone else works out a deal.
Does Aaron ask me my opinion on prospects, yes. We don't all have time to sit in front of a computer and surf the web all day like you. Funny you didn't complain about the deal that brought you Hanley Ramirez, he asked my opinion on that one also.
Travis sent Aaron- I can't give up two top prospects for Lee, who is good but is a dh and is 31. Jeff was asking for two top prospects for Cabrera last year, granted part of that was due to his A contract.

Carlos Lee for Cedric Hunter (SD #1), Jared Wells (SD #9, rhp), Nick Leone (High School Junior, Catcher), and 50K

The rest is history. After spending more money in the Ramirez trade than I had forseen. I could not take on any more prospects and pay salaries this year, so I asked him to take the other prospects off the table and put in more money.
Gotta say that I am getting pretty tired of people commenting on my trades, though!
That is what Jeff does best, he thinks he's funny. What is funny is that he makes no comments on getting a closer for a guy that was suspended from his team and not playing baseball at the end of the year because he threatened to kill his ex wife and a #3 draft pick. Looking back on past trades a closer has always gone for at least a 1st and 2nd round pick.
Don't you worry brotha, the AF has done enough investigations on me to last most people a lifetime. I'd say with the stuff I work with on a daily basis they aren't worried about my integrity.
But as far as my trade since we're all being "honest"...I'm really not into revisionist history even though i do like teaching factual history as subject.

He countered and said he wanted some kind of package consisting of Bruce, Snider, McCutch, Miller etc. (was not interested in giving up those kind of prospects for a DH when I have a 23 yr old one in Ryan Bruan)

Now I know I'm partial to my players, but I think there is a considerable difference between what I originally offered, what he countered with, and what you traded him. You never know though, maybe i'm not being "honest" with myself.
Yes I traded McCutch who I said I wouldn't trade...but I think a 23y/o Ramirez is worth the risk considering his numbers.
As far as the closer deal...I like you didn't make that offer....I merely fell victim to circumstances beyond my control.
Good thing for me the gov't has taught me to document everything...otherwise I wouldn't be able to have such a lively and factual debate.
