The reason I missed the draft yesterday is we began a little family trip for spring break. Yesterday we went to Austin to see the Horns play Miami of Ohio at Disch-Falk. We were sitting down the left field line. In the 4th or 5th inning CHance Wheeless was hitting and popped a foul ball in our direction. It looked like the ball would land in front of us and I sat there and watched the ball with my 5yo daughter sitting next to me. Well the ball kept carrying and her Dad held true to form and missed the foul pop, which landed squarely in her lap, hitting her just above the right knee. OUCH! Well the tears began flowing and I took her to first aid where we got some ice. We returned to our seats where my wife had the ball that hit her. My wife had confiscated the ball from my two sons who were mauling each other for it. My daughter was quite proud of that ball. When I offered to put it in my bookcase with our other valuebale balls she informed me this ball was going in her room so she can show her friends. What a tough cookie.
After the game we hung around to get Chance to autograph the ball for her. The TExas players had to leave the stadium through the stands due to stadium renovations. So we got Chance's autograph on the ball, and then the boys got autographs on their hats, including the big trifecta of Suttle, Russell and Danks.
Speaking of which, all three of those guys look like 2008 1st rounders. Russell has tremendous power and we saw him hit Hr number 9 or 10 I forget which. I was a no doubter blast to right field. He is easily going to hit 20 hr's in one of the toughest hr parks in the country. Danks and Suttle are just quality hitters who hit everything hard. Suttle will probably hit over .400 this year. Is he the next Alex Gordon? Adrian Alaniz pitched a complete game shutout 2 hitter. If Texas can find pitching they will be extremely tough to beat this year, inspite of their slow start.
Well that wraps it up from here. BTW, don't you guys just hate it when guys try to draft guys that are already owned? Man that ticks me off. Can't beleive guys don't do there homework better.
