Hello all. As you might surmise from my silence on this message board, I really haven't been feeling the whole offseason thing. History suggests that time will come, but not yet anyway.
Alas, one of Tom's teams sucked enough to be in the bottom 5 once again (and the other just missed), so I'm contractually obligated to conduct one of ARBA's most hallowed traditions: Ye Olde Drafte Lotterye. As always, this exceedingly scientific process involved preparing little slips of paper to represent all the chances for each team, shaking them up in a hat, and blindly pulling them from said hat to determine the draft order. This year, the role of choosing hat was performed by one of my burnt orange Texas Longhorns caps.
As you may recall, two teams tied for the 5th worst record, so I had to make even more little slips of paper to capture all the chances. Science!
WAS claimed 10 chances with their league worst record, followed by SFE (8), DAV (6), ROM (4), WOO (1), and GAL (1).
Okay, so how did it turn out? I'm so glad you asked! Although I obviously determined the top pick first and worked down from there, the results must be announced in reverse order to enhance the drama!
Drumroll please...
Picking 6th will be...
Hollywoo! Sorry, the 1 in 30 chance didn't pay off this time.
Picking 5th will be...
Rome! Tough break and interesting development for GAL.
Picking 4th will be...
Davenport! Wow, GAL jumped ahead of another team.
Picking 3rd will be...
Santa Fe! Suck it! Go GAL go!
Picking 2nd will be...
Gallatin Valley! Oh well, that's still a very lucky break jumping up to #2.
Picking 1st will be...
Washington! Yes, the worst team was rewarded with the top pick this year. Try to use it wisely!
Okay, this concludes the latest edition of Ye Olde Drafte Lotterye Resultse. You may now return to the regularly scheduled programming.
