Farewell to Surprise...and Zombies!

Hey, I moved one team so I might as well move the other one too. The 2006 move to Surprise immediately led to a championship, breaking the epic playoff curse suffered by Laramie. The next 16 seasons in Surprise brought 10 playoff appearances and 4 more championships. However, I'm tired of Surprise and even more tired of Zombies, who are so played out at this point. There are also way too many teams in "S" cities.

So, where will the team go to start the Julio Rodriguez Era? Why, Mackinac Island, of course! I've been there twice and it's a ridiculously impractical home for a sports team. That sounds perfect! Say hello to the Mackinac Islanders!

This team also hasn't made any trades yet and should be competitive next season thanks mostly to an abundance of elite pitching. The lineup could use more help, particularly at 1B and 3B.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

All the incompetent morons associated with that proposed move of the team to Mackinac Island have been sacked and then stranded on the island for the long and cold winter. Good riddance to bad baggage!

Instead, we will pay tribute to the late great Warren Zevon by becoming the London Werewolves. At least that's the plan now, unless the fans really hate it and the current team gets sacked, but this one should work. Zombies are totally played out, but werewolves are cool. Right, guys? Why are you looking at me like that?

The franchise move to London, Ontario, home of Western University and Fanshawe College at the junction of highways 401 and 402 connecting to Toronto, Windsor, and Samia, has been approved.

It is the opinion of the San Francisco Seawolves franchise that the London franchise is in violation of team copyright, brand, and logo protections with the proposed "Werewolves" name.  The protections afforded the team's "Seawolves" name includes any and all variations on the "wolves" name.  SF fully supports the move from Surprise to London, but based on the potential infringement of the Seawolves name/logo, may we suggest more creative mascots for the London team, like "Broilers", "Bangers", "Bridgers", "Laddies", "Royals", or "Lackies"?

Let it not be said that the San Francisco franchise is totally unreasonable.  The team is willing to grant a one-time, exclusive license to the London franchise to use the Werewolf name for a lump sum payment of $2M.

The league accepts the involuntarily-imposed London team nickname of "Laddies" on the basis that it makes the Commissioner chuckle.
