Game 1 was just vintage Scherzer, 8 scoreless innings, 2 hits and 8 K.  SEW starter Bieber mostly kept up with him, but a Villar error opened the door for one run and a Schwindel pinch double provided the other.  BRK 2, SEW 0.

Game 2 Degroms turn to pitch a gem, but Nestor Cortes didnt keep up with him at all.  Hernandez, Gamel and Escobar all homered for BRK and Cortes was gone in the 3rd.  Sewell scored three in the 9th to make it look closer than it was.  BRK 8, SEW 4

Game 3 Ohtani and Alcantara each allowed one run through six innings.  But when Alcantara took the mound to start the bottom of the 7th, Rizzo led off with a double and later scored on Duvalls single, and the SEW pen didnt allow a runner to get past first in the 8th and 9th.  SEW 2, BRK 1

Game 4 had some mood swings, Trout and Hernandez driving in runs to give BRK and early 2-0 lead, an Iglesias homer tied it in the 5th and a Polanco double led to a 4-2 SEW lead through 6.  Schwindel provided another pivotal pinch hit in the 8th when he singled home a pair with two out to tie the game at 4.  It finally ended in the 11th when Ohtani hit a walkoff homer off Sulser.  SEW 5, BRK 4

Game 5 Scherzer and Bieber at it again, each allowed only a solo homer and it was 1-1 through 7 innings.  Trouts turn for a pivotal 2-run pinch hit in the 8th inning, Hader earning the save.  BRK  3, SEW 1

Game 6 was a scoreless pitchers duel until Robbie Grossman homered off DeGrom in the 5th.  Cortes and the pen completed a 4 hit shutout and a bullpen meltdown wrecked the final score of a game that was actually close most of the way. SEW 9, BRK 0

Game 7 wasnt the finale an exciting series deserved.  Polanco, Ohtani and Duvall all homered, BRK starter Alcantara was gone in the 3rd, and Ohtani and the pen delivered a second straight shutout.  SEW 8, BRK 0

Jon played a good series and had a tough tough team, I felt he was already favored before I lost the first two games so I was surprised to come out on top.

The MVP has to be Ohtani.  Between the WC game and this series he now has a 1.47 ERA in 18.1 innings pitched, and he hit three homers in this series, one a walkoff, all three in games Sewell won.
