Hello again! The Zombies surprisingly won 85 games to earn a brief wild card appearance. Despite most of their veteran gambles coming up snake eyes, they should be better in 2023 thanks to an influx of young talent, most notably Julio Rodriguez. If Shiner isn't going to try this year, then I suppose these guys must. So, how can you help? I'm very glad you asked!
The biggest needs are at the corner IF spots, where the darts thrown pretty much all missed. A true closer or another OF to join Rodriguez and Buxton might also be nice, although I have some options there. Other than that, I don't need much at all. Surprise has an embarrassment of pitching riches, so they could trade some of that. However, they're all pretty young and cheap so I might just be a hoarder.
Available batters: Anthony Rendon <sigh>, Trey Mancini <sigh>, Aaron Nola, Zach McKinstry (unlimited utility fun), maybe Eric Haase who we don't really need, maybe young unlimited OF JJ Bleday and/or Taylor Trammell, some other crappy guys I won't even bother to mention.
Available pitchers: Patrick Corbin (take this garbage away, please!), Phil Bickford, Ryan Thompson, Zach Pop, Dennis Santana, maybe Kyle Bradish but I'd rather wait and see on him.
Beyond filling the needs/wants above, I'm always interested in cash and picks, perhaps even prospects.
Okay, I'll stop there for now. Bring on the fabulous offers! I won't stop using my line, but Kevin can share it.
In related news, Austin Nola has requested a trade from Surprise, identifying his team's lack of investment in his career path as a key driver for the request.
When asked about it, Nola simply stated "These fools don't even know my name."
