Hello all! Believe it or not, we only have a couple more weeks left before the end of 2021 and the 1st Trading Period. The hot stove has been relatively cold this month, but perhaps the ratings preview will heat it up a bit.
Shiner is still seeking another quality SP and LH Relief. A decent lefty swingman type could also be useful. The lineup is mostly set, but there are some player profiles that would fit nicely.
1) CF vs. LHP - Defense is key with bonus points awarded for competence vs. RHP and pinch running prowess.
2) 2B vs. LHP - Defense is key again with bonus points awarded for competence vs. RHP, SS defense, and pinch running.
3) C vs. RHP - Wouldn't need to cover all RHP, but a better hitter to pair with Molina would be nice.
4) SS vs. RHP - Similarly don't expect to get a regular here, but would love to add a good defender to help carry the load, particularly if he can also help at 2B.
Available players include:
Blake Snell - Pitched pretty well and would come off A to B6. Will put him on a C if I can't get a good enough offer.
CJ Cron - Mashed for Rockies, but I'm leaning toward Gurriel to help shore up defense and DH spot is crowded.
Jace Peterson - IF/OF with decent OB, but isn't really a good fit for our bench.
Manny Pina - Fun UL catcher card with lots of HR, but I couldn't resist the nostalgia of a Molina reunion
Tyler Duffey - Good RH relief with a few saves, but our RH relief depth is strong.
Jake Diekman - LH reliever who slumped late, but had lots of Ks and can close.
Tyler Clippard - Low IP, but can also close.
Joely Rodriguez - More of a LOOGY for this season, but pitched well enough for Yankees to return.
Mauricio Dubon - IF/OF had a rough year, but is young enough to bounce back.
Chance Sisco - Unlimited lefty catcher who is still pretty young.
Rafael Montero - Unlimited RH reliever who will get another shot with Astros.
Miguel Cabrera - Future Hall-of-Famer!
E Players - Brayan Buelvas, Christian Franklin, Hudson Head, Ronaldo Hernandez, Levi Kelly, Christopher Morel, Wilderd Patino, Alejandro Pie
I should also mention that Shiner is really hurting for cash, so selling players is also an option. I will stop there, but please let me know if you have any trade ideas to discuss!
