Many thanks for all of the input (other than pure condemnation to Josh for responding to an Eric post by assuming it was from me - blasphemy!).
While there are plenty of people on both sides of the issue and acknowledging that there is no pure correct answer, for this year we're going to try to have two separate drafts - one for the C Auction, then, the following week, one for the FA Auction. I think it's fair to give the half of the league that prefers this at least a year to see how we all feel about it. Going forward we may alternate having them on the same day and splitting them up or go back to just having it all on one day, but let's see how we feel after giving this a chance.
I'm looking at the C Auction on Feb 14 (11 am ET) and the FA Auction on Feb 21 (11 am ET). Please let me know ASAP if either date is a problem and we'll see what we can work out. Of course, one of the benefits of having two dates is that it should be somewhat easier to get someone to cover for you.
I am sure we all appreciate the time and consideration on trying this new schedule for this year. Obviously I am one person and Dennis is one person with a couple teams. We both work till 5pm on Saturdays. There is no way we would be able to participate at all. I understand we do not represent the whole league. I do hope it can be worked out.
Okay, so now I'm confused. The announced dates of Feb. 14th and 21st are both Sundays already, so Tom's "Would Sundays work better for people"? question confuses me.
Good with any date...prefer Sundays, but can adjust if the league decides as much. Completely understand the arguments against the 14th as it is Valentine's Day, especially as the 15th is a day off for many, but it does not impact much for me. Looking forward to it!
