Redwood Players For Sale
Permalink

After acquiring Freeman and Greinke, and their combined $800K salary, Redwood needs to cut payroll and increase revenues.  To that end, we have some players that are available for cash and/or picks!

Chase Anderson - Had a terrible short Covid season in his first year in Toronto, but is a good bet to come back to relevancy in 2021.  Plus, he has unlimited dreadful innings!  Not a bad pickup for a team looking for him to bounce back.

Jason Castro - Similar to Anderson, had a short Covid season to forget in his first year with the Angels.  Also like Anderson, he is a good bounce back candidate with unlimited usage.  A decent walk rate helps out a bad batting average, but he will have his usual stellar defense, including a projected -1 arm behind the plate.

Ben Gamel - Ah, someone who is not so crappy as to offer unlimited usage!  A good walk rate (particularly against lefties) helps Gamel's case as a 4th outfielder/lefty bench bat with 412 adjusted plate appearances.

Brian Goodwin - Similar to Gamel but better, Goodwin is a solid 4th outfielder/bench bat, who has good OBP numbers and good pop, particularly as a range 3 in centerfield.

Ryan Helsley - Slated to be the St.Louis closer before contracting Covid and struggling upon his return, he figures to pitch in high-leverage situations with the Cardinals in 2021.  A good young arm that I'd like to keep, but can't afford.

Jose Osuna - A very good platoon option against lefties at 3B or 1B, he has 266 adjusted PA's.

Trevor Richards - 104 adjusted innings as a starter/reliever, who is a solid bounce back candidate for the Rays in 2021.

Robert Stephenson - Young righty who had a great 2019 season as a full-time reliever, but struggled in the short Covid season with an injury.  Good bounce back candidate for 2021.

Ildemaro Vargas - Unlimited switch-hitting 2B/3Bman who hit .304 against righties and offers solid defense.

Austin Voth - Unlimited young starter who struggled in the Covid season, but who is slated to open the 2021 season in Washington's starting rotation.

Alex Young - Young lefty starter/reliever with 150 adjusted innings that held lefties to a .241 average.
