Now that Thanksgiving and the World Series are over, I should probably give some more thought to the inevitably weird 2021 season. Shiner's current plan is to keep most of the band together, but they do have a few holes to fill.
1) Closer - The bullpen looks strong again, but I need to replace Yates (injured) and Vazquez (prison).
2) OF vs. RHP - Quality everyday OF could make Dubon expendable.
3) 1B - Upgrade or complement to Matt Olson, who didn't play up to his usual high standards.
That's pretty much it, but I'm open to other opportunities for improvement.
Trade bait includes SS Jorge Polanco, SS Anderson Tejada, OF Nomar Mazara, LHP Wade Miley, RHP Ty Buttrey, LHP Tim Hill, draft picks, and maybe prospects not named Franco or Dominguez. As noted above, Olson or Dubon could be traded for upgrades.
