Zeroes until the 4th when a couple CMD base hits loaded the bases and Scherzer was pulled for Taylor. Not wanting Seager to face a lefty Machado came in to pinch hit and delivered the grand slam. CMD would tack on a couple more runs in the inning and 4 more in the 5th and Syndergaard would cruise. CMD 10-0
Game 2: Woodruff vs Stroman
Home runs galore in game 2. CMD would score two in the first on shots by Bell and Donaldson. Acuna would add a hr in the 2nd but SFE answered with solo shots from Merrifield and Bogaerts in the 2nd and 3rd. Sanchez would gets two hrs of his own later in the game and Vogt would add a solo hr for SFE. Three solo hrs by SFE wouldn't be enough as CMD answered with 5 hrs of their own. CMD 7-3
Game 3: Greinke vs Stanek
More homeruns and too much Greinke. Bogaerts and Freeman put SFE on the board first with solo hrs. Holt supplied CMDs first run with a solo shot in the 3rd. Two hrs from Cruz would give SFE 4 more runs and a solo shot by Donaldson in the 9th was too late. SFE 6-2.
Game 4: Scherzer vs Syndergaard
Scherzer would out duel Syndergaard this time around and would exit the game after the 5th with a 3 run lead thanks to another Freeman hr. Manea would be called upon to hold down the SFE lead but hrs but Arenado and D'Arnaud would pull CMD ahead in the 7th. Chapman and Hendriks were called on to preserve the win and pulled it off enduring several scary moments. CMD 4-3
Game 5: Hill vs Marquez
CMD would jump on SFE early scoring 5 runs in the 1st three innings with the big hit being a 3 run shot by D'Arnaud. SFEs bullpen responded by holding CMD scoreless the rest of the game. A Betts 2 out double and error in the 5th gave SFE 3 runs as he cleared the bases and scored himself. CMD called on their bullpen to close out the series and they were up to the task. CMD 5-3
