Following San Francisco's disappointing early exit from the playoffs, management has directed the team to consider going in a new direction heading into 2021.  The poster boy for that disappointment is Trevor Story, who despite great numbers and excellent cards, has not been able to translate that into playoff success.  He is being made available for trade, but will not be "given" away.  Other available players are:

Anthony Rizzo - A player the team would like the keep, his contract status (coming off an expiring A contract) dictates that the team consider moving him.

Tommy Pham - Another player with disappointing postseason performances, he hit .300/.400/.567 against lefties this year and is an excellent platoon option.  He should also once again be an A stealer.

Patrick Corbin - A great bounceback rotation option who could be useful next season as a lefty reliever/mop up guy.

James Paxton (Unl) - Another excellent bounceback candidate that had a rough injury-plagued Covid season.

Corey Knebel (Unl) - Following TJ surgery, Knebel flashed moments of his dominant former self.  He's expected to return to high-leverage relief for the Brewers next season.

A few more interesting names include Aristides Aquino, Aaron Civale, Seth Lugo, and Caleb Smith.

The team is looking for help in the OF (particularly CF), a closer, 1B (to replace Rizzo), cash, and draft picks.
