Jon - BRK

Brooklyn Offseason

After flaming out quickly in the wild card game, Brooklyn is looking to crack the ceiling to the "real" playoffs next year. I could run my lineup as is pretty well, but upgrades at a few spots are always welcome.

Shopping:

  • CJ Cron is there for steady power at 1B
  • You want a second baseman? I've got a second baseman. Schoop (464 PA, .777 OPS) Dietrich (305/.790) Ryan McMahon (539/.779) are a crowd.
  • You want young guys with steady jobs? Renato Nunez (599/.771) and McMahon are useful parts for me, but likely worth more to someone else
  • Adam Engel - defensive CF wiz who can't hit, but not as bad as you might think (.687 OPS)
  • Teoscar Hernandez (464/.778) and Stephen Piscotty (393/.721) are getting squeezed out by rookies
  • I still love Mike Foltynewicz, he finished very strong but perhaps he can bounce back on your roster instead of mine.
  • Same deal for Nathan Eovaldi, but perhaps I'm more appreciative of the guy than in love with him

Cash / Picks / Prospects all available. (No, not Rutschman)

Needs:

Pitching -

  • I have enough starts to cover, but a good #2/3 guy to push some of the iffier starts off the schedule would be great
  • The bullpen is thin - great relievers definitely valued. As Oliver Perez showed, sometimes you just have to have that shutdown guy in a key spot

Hitting -

  • Shortstop upgrade over Segura either offensively/defensively or ideally both.
  • Catcher - someone with ~250 PA to fill in for one year
