I've only made one deal in the 2nd trading period so far. Therefore, I assume that everyone else desperately wants to trade with me, but just isn't sure what to do. Never fear! I'm here to help with some specific guidelines.
Surprise has some open roster spots and is seeking players to fit the profiles below:
RHP - Looking for decent middle/long relief type with R2+, although I certainly wouldn't mind adding another elite reliever if price is right. Bonus points for those who can also handle some starts as I'd like to add 10-15 eventually.
LHP - Same as above, have room for at least one of each.
LH DH/PH - Bat quality is more important than quantity. Bonus points if he can credibly play C, 2B, 3B, and/or OF. Might have room for a couple of these as current roster leans more RH.
4th OF - Defense is key, but would be reluctant to use the spot unless he can contribute with the bat somehow.
Backup 2B - Looking for a LH guy to give Torres the occasional breather. Again, I would rather save the spot for someone who can also contribute as a PH.
That's pretty much it at this point, although I'm open to suggestions.
Trade bait includes:
Cash
Nate Jones - RHP, 3.00 ERA with 33 AIP and 3 closer rating, so he's minors-eligible if that helps.
Minor-league players: Albert Abreu (NYY-RHP), Luis Campusano (SD-C), Danny Diaz (BOS-3B), Chase DeJong (MIN-RHP), Trevor Stephan (NYY-RHP), Thomas Szapucki (NYM-LHP), Steele Walker (CHW-OF)
I would also be interested in offers of cash and/or picks for these players. Cash for cash transactions would be trickier.
Okay, that's all for now. Who wants to make a deal?
