Hollywoo STILL Needs a Bat
Permalink

Hollywoo is still looking for an impact bat, still.  Any position.  (We thought we had a deal for a bat with an owner I won't name, but it turned out he was less than forthcoming and we could not get something done.  Lesson learned and here we are again. What ya gonna do?)

Lots of good young pitching available.  Including:

Michel Baez the #1 Overall pick in ARBA draft last year, John Sickels:  "he has the stuff and command of a top-of-the-rotation pitcher."

Kolby Allard 21 year old called up to majors this year but still on E contract, good minor league numbers

Frances Martes Astros #1 prospect; just had surgery though

Yadier Alvarez Dodgers prospect throws 100+, but needs to stop walking people

Alex Reyes Some think top prospect in baseball, but cant stay healthy I would hate to move him, though, because he could stay healthy and haunt me for years!

Frankie Montas 25 year old, solid in 11 starts

Jake Woodford 22 year old moving fast in Cardinals system

Eric Lauer 22 years old, rushed to Majors by Padres and struggled early, but settled in for a nice 2nd half of year (3.15 ERA)

Grant Holmes was a top Dodgers prospect, just came back for a cup of coffee after TJ surgery

Rome's owner looks around, realizes there isn't a single impact bat on the team, and feels sure it wasn't our team being accused here.

It was me. And after going back through the emails I never saw the words " yes it's a deal". What I saw is me stating time after time NO. I made a fair offer and you passed and tried to cheapen the deal. If you didn't get your way I'm sorry but sometimes tough love needs to taught. You can ask my kids.

Wait who is me?  Just need to know so next time we make a deal I get the words "yes it's a deal."  smile

I also must say "fair offer" is always subjective....

Passive aggression? Anonymity for quotes? When did ARBA become so life like?

Can't say I approve of the snark from Hollywoo, and I honestly don't care about the details, but...

I have to say this about Mr. "It Was Me": what an ass!  Fellow owners are not "kids" who need to be taught lessons through "tough love."  Show some respect to your fellow owners, please.

I choose to believe that all Anonymous posts are from Keith Bernard coming back to troll us and provoke conflict. It's a trap!

I regret opening this can of worms.  Apologies.

I have very much enjoyed this League (with the exception that the C/FA auction; that night takes way too long).  This interaction has been a rare exception and generally we have a great group.  I am not going to 'out' the other owner and will just assume that our interactions and his comments here are the result of him having a bad day and some mis-communications for which all sides (me included) need to accept responsibility.

Lets move on.

Go Horsemen!  Keep Horsin' Around!
