Trading away Zack Greinke left a gaping void in the Zombie pitching staff as well as in our cold and shriveled hearts. Therefore, Surprise moved quickly to fill that void with 3 pitchers, including 2 familiar faces returning to the team. Exciting!

SUR trades Michael Fulmer, Scott Kingery, SUR-1 and $40K to KC for Rick Porcello, Jeremy Jeffress, and Edwin Jackson.

For you history buffs out there, Jackson pitched for SUR from 2010-2013 while Jeffress was here in 2017. Fittingly enough, both are back from the dead this season and KC turns a nice profit on those cheap FA investments. Welcome back to them and welcome to Porcello!

At this point, the SUR shopping list is down to LH relief and miscellaneous bats, probably of the part-time variety, but I would be interested in upgrading a few positions if the price is right. The top remaining trade piece is rookie OF Dustin Fowler, but there's more for you discriminating shoppers out there.
