Walker vs Lamet

With all the homerun power on these two teams who would expect a low scoring game.  Souza would hit a homerun in the 2nd and Russell would add one in the 6th.  Walker, Madson, Albers, and Kimbrel would team up on a shut out and Lamet went the distance for WAS. CMD wins 2-0.

Marquez vs Cobb

No way these offenses would be kept down again as Perez hits a 1st inning GS.  Three straight hits from D'Arnuad, Russell, and Gordon, followed by a Yelich walk and Souza single brought Benoit in the 3rd inning for WAS.  Benoit shut down the rest of the inning but Camden put 3 runs on the board.  Albers came on in the 3rd for Camden.  With Vincent starting the 5th inning for WAS Yelich was a strikeout victim before Souza doubled and Davis singled followed by a 2 base error by Reddick on an Arenado fly ball.  WAS would bring in Pressly to face Gallo greeted him with a homerun giving Camden a 7-4 lead.  Camden would bring in Kimbrel in the 6th inning and he would promptly give up homeruns to Martinez and Perez, 7-6 Camden.  On to the 9th, with Belisle in the game Camden got a walk from Davis and single from Arenado before Gallo hit another homerun giving Camden some cushion and a 10-6 lead.  It would be much needed as Reddick hit a 2 run homer off Colome before he was able to final end the game.  CMD wins 10-8.

Hendricks vs Taillon

A Valbuena double and Iglesias single would get WAS on the board first in the 3rd inning.  CMD answered with a Gordon double and Yelich single in the bottom of the inning.  Hits by Arenado, Bell, and Russell in the 4th would bring on Benoit who shut down the inning but CMD put 3 runs on the board, 4-1 CMD lead.  With Madson on in the 6th Conforto and Reddick both hit solo shots bringing Kimbrel into the game.  With Barnes on in the bottom of the 6th a Valbuena error would put Russell on base. Gordon would ground out, followed by a Yelich walk, Souza fly out, and Davis IBB to face D'Arnuad who come up with a big 2 out single scoring 2 runs.  Valbuena make up for his error with a homerun in the 7th.  WAS added two more in the 8th off hits from Reddick, Valencia, Perez, and Valbuena.  Tied at 6 going into the 9th CMD pulls Albers for Colome after a walk to Conforto, Colome would K Goldschmidt before Martinez does what he does, hits a 2 run homer.  CMD would score 1 in the bottom of the inning but came up short.  WAS wins 8-7.

Junis vs Bumgarner

A Perez homerun in the 5th would start the scoring and chase Bumgarner for Madson.  CMD would answer in the bottom of the inning with a Gallo walk and Bell homerun.  Davis added solo shot in the 6th.  Reddick would single in the 7th, steal a base and score on a Valencia hit.  There would be no more scoring in the game as Kimbrel gets the 2 inning save.  CMD wins 3-2.

Lamet vs Walker

A Gordon single, Yelich walk, and Souza homerun would chase Lamet before he recorded an out.  A Davis homerun in the 3rd off Vincent would add 2 more runs.  Walker would pitch into the 6th before a Reddick walk and Goldschmidt single chased him.  Albers comes into the game and is greeted by a Martinez 3 run shot.  Pinch hitter Franco would add a 2 run shot in the 7th off Albers to tie the game.  On to the bottom of the 8th, after Kontos get Gallo and Bell out Arenado hits a double and goes to 3rd on a wild pitch, D'Arnaud follows with a huge two out double scoring Arenado and giving Camden the lead.  With the bullpen exhausted CMD would keep Colome on to pitch the 9th and he got the job done.  CMD wins 6-5.

Lots of homeruns and close games as I expected, 19 homeruns total in 5 games and every game was decided by 2 or fewer runs.  Congrats to Ken on a great team and season.
