Okay, I should probably post something about Shiner's plans for 2019. They certainly have a very crowded roster, with a bunch of rookies more making up for attrition from last year's team. Juan Soto!
Starting Pitching is definitely at the top of their wish list as 3 of last year's top starters imploded. Another big bat for RF or DH would also be nice.
Available players include:
Lucas Duda (1B) - LH power bat vs. RHP (813 OPS). Not recommended vs. LH
Eric Thames (OF/1B) - Another LH power bat who was much better vs. RH (804 OPS). Limited by injury, but could certainly bounce back and has an incredible beard.
Nicky Delmonico (OF/1B) - Well, he's only 25 and the White Sox played him a lot, but the results were uninspiring. Who's feeling lucky?
Jorge Bonifacio (OF)- Kind of lost season that started with suspension, but is still young and at least hit LHP pretty well
Devon Travis (2B) - Disappointing season battling injuries, but is only 27 and could offer 400+ PA as a placeholder and bounce-back candidate
Marco Estrada (RHP) - Let's be honest, he was pretty terrible. He's also getting old and expensive, so I'm only listing him in case his mother joins the league.
Cody Allen (RHP-R) - Disappointing season, but still had 27 saves! Has a strong track record and isn't even 30 yet.
Dan Jennings (LHP-L) - Reliever with 3.22 ERA and a cheap contract, who wouldn't want that?
Nick Kingham (RHP) - Rookie starter with 15 starts and a bit of a HR problem.
Ariel Jurado (RHP) - Another rookie starter with 8 starts who would probably be more appealing if his ERA were just .07 higher.
I'll stop there, but I'm open to at least talking about most of the other guys.
