Sources within the Continental League have confirmed to our reporters that the reason why the CL playoffs is lagging so far behind the Federal League is that their participants are simply too scared to face the FL Champs.
"Have you seen those guys?" said a CL management source on condition of anonymity. "I mean, who's in a rush to face that when we're just going to lose anyway? Why even bother."
Another CL source confirmed on background that the overall strength of the FL teams was a determinative factor in the long postseason delays. "It's not just the Geckos either," said the source. "Surprise was just as good! And Camden, Redwood, Sewell...frankly all those teams are way better than anything we have in the CL. We're just not motivated to even show up."
At the time this story was going to press, ARBA league sources would not confirm that they were considering just naming the FL champion the league champion in light of the CL's apparent disinterest.
