2nd Trading Period Update - Surprise
Permalink

Since Travis revealed that at least someone is reading my posts, I might as well do one of these for Surprise also.

Surprise is still interested in upgrading their bullpen and bench.  If you have someone available who might help, let's chat.  I'm also still interested in improving draft position through adding and/or swapping picks.  Cash is always a nice gift.

Most of the current bullpen and bench players are available as part of upgrade deals.  That could include Abad, Axford, Cahill, Jeffress, and/or Smith from the bullpen.  Anyone on the bench could go under the right circumstances.

The roster is crowded, so I'll highlight a few players who should probably be moved regardless of whether I get another player back in return.

  • John Axford - RHP, 73 AIP, 3.97 ERA, 2 closer rating.  I probably won't be able to resist splurging on a more elite reliever in the draft, which would make the Ax-Man expendable.
  • Geovany Soto - C/1B/3B, 95 APA, crushes LHP and hits RHP decently also.  Is minors eligible, if that appeals.  Would be fun to keep, but that seems excessive when I have 3 other catchers who hit LHP hard.
  • Kelby Tomlinson - 2B/3B/SS/LF with 132 APA.  High OB, particularly vs. LHP.  Speedy!  And who wouldn't want to OWN Tomlinson?  I want to keep him for luck, but will float the accursed name at least.

I'm also willing to consider trading cash, picks, and/or prospects.  Okay, that's all for now.  Let me know if you see any trade potential worth exploring.
