2017 C/FA Auction Time and Procedures
Permalink

All -

The START TIME for the C/FA Auction SATURDAY FEB 18 will be 5:00 Central / 6:00 Eastern / 4:37 am Eric Standard Time.

In a vain attempt to avoid the problems we have every year with AIM, I would like to use the MUCH more user-friendly and stable slack.com.  Later tonight I will be sending an invite to all of you to join the ARBA C/FA Auction slack chat.  You will need to create a free slack account, which should be MUCH easier than creating an AIM account or finding your old login information.  Please let me or Jon know asap if you have any issues.

The auction will start with the C Players, presented in the order they are listed on the site.  Bidding on C Players will commence at $150K and subsequent bids must be in minimum increments of $20K above that.

After that the auction will move on to the Free Agents, also in the order presented.  Bids on Free Agents will commence at $40K and subsequent bids must be in minimum increments of $10K above that.

As with every year, please be ready to move the auction along fairly briskly so that it doesn't go too late, especially with an very long list of C and FA players this year (longer every season that I've been doing this).  We will be starting promptly at the designated time, so don't be late!

If anyone cannot make the auction, please ask another owner ahead of time (ideally not me since I'll be running the auction and my teams, but I am glad to cover if someone cannot find another owner to agree to do it) to agree to make bids on your team's behalf and to make matching decisions on your C players.  In the unlikely event that someone is not present and is not represented at the auction, that team's C players will *not* be matched at any amount.

Thanks,

-Tom

Anyone has a decent estimate on how long it will take?  Is 3 hours fairly accurate?

A couple of corrections:

Wily Peralta was taken by BAL for $400

Jarrod Hughes was matched by BAL at $150

The info on the site has been corrected to reflect these (including the adjustments to the money balances).
